Since 2020, Chinese Southern Power Grid has proactivelyimplemented state industrial internet strategy. At present, application of 5G intelligent switch boardroom, 5G charging station, 5G cameral system, 5G intelligent road lamp, 5G droneand etc have played an important role in maintainence of stable southerneletric power supply.

5G guards power supply

“Attention, construction car, you are closed to the highvoltage cable. Please stop working, and get away from the cable right away .”Recently,an excavator broken into protection zone for electricity facilities by accidentin the construction site on Nansa district, Guangzhou city, Guangdong province,immediately triggering warning device, as the behavior of the car was picturedby high-definition camera and transmitted to control center in the local powersupply department. After received the feedback, the unmanned aerial vehicle atonce ask the cars to stop construction.

Above scene shows how, southern power grid based on the5G technology and camera system prevent and control the destruction from theoutside force. It is learned that the system targets automatic precaution, andintegreted many applications like 5G plus vedio surveillance, 5G plus intelligentidetification, 5G plus drone tour, 5G plus eletronic fence. Once the foreign matterbreak into warning regioin, monitoring staff will warn the construction car bymany ways according to the feedback of system to enssure the safety of eletricdevices, which immensely enhance the resistant ability to rick from outside.

5G Networkto make restoring electricity into millisecond class

New infrastructure as the new developing idea is based onthe high-tech, but southern power grid attachs importance to intelligent powerconstruction.

Recently, the smart power room of Jiangmen Lile Home forthe Elderly was officially put into production. As the first smart powerdistribution room with intelligent low-voltage operation and maintenanceapplied by China Southern Power Grid in Jiangmen, the power distribution roomcan realize the full operation of "5G network + visual display +intelligent operation and maintenance"."Failure occurs in the past apower outage, operations staff in handling complex need access to more than thecircuit diagram, more time-consuming long, bring a lot of trouble to rob torepair, and now through the display of intelligent electric room, power supplypersonnel can check automatically generate low line electrical diagram,geographical distribution, and realize low line fault isolation, theclassification of intelligent alarm and automatic fault location, complex,greatly increasing efficiency."Local power supply department distributionnetwork planning Zhang Haomin told reporters.

The comprehensive application of intelligenttechnology not only reduces the cost of daily data operation and maintenance,but also provides more stable and safe power supply for customers in the powersupply region.At present, the pilot application of "5G+ carrier" hasbeen carried out in Jiangmen, including information transmission in powerdistribution rooms and low-voltage stations, UAV communication and otherscenarios. Next, China Southern Power Grid will continue to build severaldemonstration areas for comprehensive application of intelligent technologiesin Guangdong. It is expected that the time for local power supply to berestored will reach "milliseconds" after putting into operation.
